Last summer, the United States announced a series of tariffs on goods and materials that are manufactured in China. Many of the machines and annular cutters within the Evolution Power Tools product offering are included on the lists of goods that have incurred these tariffs. To date, the tariff has been 10%, with speculation the tariff could increase to 25% in 2019.

While Evolution has taken steps to mitigate the tariff impact by absorbing the additional costs, compliance necessitates that we pass along some of the increased tariff burden. Effective March 1st, 2019, Evolution will apply a 7.5% increase to our list prices on all products affected by the tariffs (saws, magnetic drills and annular cutters). Our blades, while not affected by tariffs, will have a price adjustment of 2.5% added to their list prices to reflect the weakening US dollar relative to the Japanese yen.

We believe there is uncertainty in these new regulations, and we are not sure how long our products will continue to be impacted. If the tariff situation changes, we may increase, decrease, or eliminate the pricing adjustment applied to our products accordingly. As always, we will do our best to provide adequate notice and communication to our customers.
